Botany Bay III

Not Fisheye, but the good old 17-40 @17mm

No its not about putting fish back in after catching them, I read on a forum a discussion about normalizing or correcting the fisheye look from photos taken with a Fisheye. I have a 15mm Canon Fisheye and though I appreciate the effect and try to use it sensibly, sometimes I have thought “Hey thats a good photo, shame about the Fisheye look”.

journey 1.

Isabella my daughter makes a journey in the morning 5 days a week, to the daycare. We made this movie one morning this week documenting her walk through the woods.
It is made out of 236 photos, shot with a 15mm fisheye and my 1D Mark II on high burst.

This movie requires Adobe Flash for playback.

The Moment
Botany Bay – Got soaked

Went for a drive from Victoria to Port Renfrew, hoping to catch some good bad-weather photos. Stopped at China Beach and Jordan River. The ocean was going wild, wind and swell in uniform crashing against the rocks. Port Renfrew was without power so there was no coffee to be had in town.
Botanical Bay was beautiful as ever, if not more so in the howling wind and rain. As the rain and the wind swept through the trees, the sun sometimes made brief appearances making the light qute dramatic and stark. Good day for images and refreshing for the windswept Icelander that lives inside me.
